ALL RIGHT, LET’S GET STARTED WITH THE INGREDIENTS LIST FIRST!!
Diced bacon; I used 10 slices.
A medium yellow onion – finely diced.
A small green bell pepper – finely diced.
54-ounces canned pork and beans.
4 large spoons.Of ketchup.
1/4 Cup.Of molasses.
2/3 Cup.Of brown sugar.
1/4 Cup.Of cider vinegar.
2 small spoons.Of dry mustard.
PREPARATION:
Step 1:
Cook the bacon until it is almost completely done (in any way you prefer), then put it aside to drain on some paper towel. When it has cooled, cut it into pieces that are approximately bite size.
Step 2:
Prepare the oven by preheating it to 325 degrees and moving an oven rack to the lower-middle position.
Step 3:
Over medium heat, bring 2 tablespoons of bacon fat to a deep pan. Sauté the chopped onion and green pepper for approximately five minutes, or until they have become soft.
Step 4:
At this point, you must add the rest of the ingredients and stir well to mix. Allow the mixture to boil for about a minute.
Step 5:
Now you need to grease a 13×9 baking dish, as well as any other dish or saucepan that holds 3 quarts, while the mixture is cooking.
Step 6:
Spread the beans in the prepared baking dish, and then arrange the fried bacon strips on top of the beans.
Step 7:
Bake for around two to three hours, depending on the thickness you want the final result to have. Don’t serve the beans until they’ve had time to sit for at least 5 minutes.
ENJOY IT!!!
