HOW TO MAKE CHEESY BAKED ASPARAGUS
Asparagus is absolutely perfect in its natural form. But, I’ll take this particular option. When I say that asparagus covered with cheese and roasted in the oven can be one of the tastiest things in the world, I really do mean it!!!
The ideal side dish for when you don’t want to bother too much is cheesy baked asparagus. You’ll be serving this asparagus with just about anything since it just only four ingredients and takes 15 minutes to create.
In this dish, I called for mozzarella, which I find to be the ideal ingredient since its mild flavor enhances the asparagus rather than competing with it. I wouldn’t recommend using cheddar for this dish since the flavor would be too dominant. The only alternative that I would propose is to use Gruyere cheese instead of parmesan.
When it comes to cooking asparagus in the oven, you really couldn’t ask for a simpler method. To prepare the asparagus, you need to do nothing more than cut off the tough ends of the spears. Asparagus does not need any preparation, including peeling or trimming of any other portion. To get rid of the tough ends of the asparagus, I just line them up and cut them to within an inch of their tips (depending on size). Although I am aware that the traditional method involves bending and snapping the spears, I believe that this results in the loss of too much of the asparagus. Nobody will be harmed if there is just a little amount of white in there.
THIS IS EVERYTHING YOU WILL NEED TO GET STARTED:
300 grams.Of fresh Asparagus.
80 grams.Of shredded Mozzarella cheese.
30 grams.Of finely grated Parmesan cheese.
Minced garlic; I used 2 cloves.
Extra-virgin Olive Oil; you’ll need a large spoon.
Cracked black pepper and Salt to season.
FOR MAKING THIS CHEESY BAKED ASPARAGUS, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
Cut off the tough parts of your asparagus and toss them with olive oil, 2 minced garlic cloves, salt, and black pepper. Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Put it in the oven at 390 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until it begins to wrinkle and become softer.
Take the dish out of the oven, sprinkle it with mozzarella, and then finish it off with grated parmesan cheese.
Place on a grill or under the broiler and cook until the cheese is golden brown and bubbling and the asparagus is fork-tender. Immediately serve it!
