The sauce has more of an au jus consistency than that of a thicker gravy. If you like your sauce on the thicker side, you can easily thicken it by re-heating any sauce that is left over and bringing it to a low boil. After dissolving a little amount of cornstarch (start with 1-2 tsp) in a small amount of water (approximately 1-2 tsp), add the cornstarch that has been dissolved to the sauce that is boiling. When necessary, add extra cornstarch that has been dissolved. Continuous stirring is required until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.
THE INGREDIENTS LIST
A 5 Pound.Of fully cooked ham.
Apple cider vinegar; I used 1 cup.
¼ Cup.Of firmly packed brown sugar.
¼ Cup.Of whole grain mustard.
¼ Cup.Of pure honey.
Turn the oven on at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and put the rack in the lowest position.
In a bowl, combine the apple cider, brown sugar, mustard, and honey and stir to combine. Mix well in order to completely incorporate the basting sauce.
Put the ham in a baking dish that’s 13 by 9 inches. Spread a substantial quantity of sauce all over the ham. Bake for an additional 15 minutes after each 15-minute interval while basting well.
After arranging pre-cut pieces of ham in an orderly fashion on a serving plate, brush any remaining sauce evenly over the ham slices, and then proceed to serve the ham.
